OATML

Afroditi is the Programme Manager for the OATML research group, responsible for the group’s strategic, operational and communication activities. Before joining OATML, she spent 20 years in corporate roles across consulting firms and start-ups in London and in the finance and shipping sectors in Athens, leading data transformation, change management, and process improvement initiatives. Alongside her professional career, Afroditi pursued her longstanding interest in human psychology and Social Cognition—the ability humans have to infer the thoughts, feelings, intentions, and goals of other entities, both human and non-human—earning a PhD in Experimental Psychology from University College London (2025). She has since returned to Oxford, which she hopes to make her long-term home. Outside work, she enjoys reading good literature, spending time with her cat, Albus, and attempting to learn German (slowly).
