Matthew Kearney

Matt is a Computer Science DPhil candidate and is co-supervised by Yarin Gal and Reuben Binns. He studies AI Ethics broadly with a focus on how philosophical approaches can inform the creation and use of model interpretability tools for fairer outcomes. He is particularly interested in cross-disciplinary research that focuses on understanding and mitigating the ethical problems posed by AI in various applications. He is funded by a Rhodes Scholarship. Matt previously completed a Master of Engineering in Computer Science, a BSc in Computer Science, and a BSc in Philosophy from MIT.
